South Duff Improvements Begin on Monday

Post Date:05/19/2017 4:00 PM
Improvements to the outside lanes of south Duff Avenue from the Squaw Creek Bridge north to South Fifth Street will begin on Monday, May 22, weather dependent. Two-lane, north and south traffic will be maintained through most of the work zone. However, traffic will funnel to one lane in each direction in front of the Walmart Supercenter, 534 S. Duff Ave.

Northbound vehicles traveling to Walmart may be detoured to Southeast Fifth Street. Access to other area businesses will be maintained. The work is anticipated to last two weeks.

The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct, Inc. to complete improvements to driveways, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. Utility flags will be common in the area as the underground utilities are located prior to construction.  Drivers should use caution in the area and allow extra travel time as delays may occur.
