Channel 12

This office is responsible for the production of all programming on Channel 12. Channel 12 is available on Mediacom Channel 12 (Channel 12 or 121-1) and also streaming live and on demand from the city website!  City of Ames Channel 12 strives to inform and educate citizens about local government activities.

 

Live Production:
PTZ Camera operationChannel 12 covers City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Historic Preservation Commission, Human Relations Commission, Commission on the Arts, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Library Board of Trustees, and Parks and Recreation Commission meetings live. We also produce live-to-tape coverage of the Ames Municipal Band concerts from Bandshell park during the summer.  

 

 

Original Programming:
We also have a variety of original programs covering city services, programs, and events. Our flagship show This Week in Ames is a weekly show hosted by Public Relations Officer Susan Gwiasda. Susan interviews guests each week about timely topics affecting Ames residents. This show debuts every Friday at 5pm and can Well Readbe seen periodically throughout the week. Other recurring shows include Where's Brian? Project Coordinator Brian Phillips explores the different jobs within the City. Healthy Living with Nancy Shaw - Wellness Coordinator Nancy Shaw gives work out tips and advice. And Well Read with Jerri Heid, Youth Services Librarian at the Ames Public Library has a monthly show discussing early literacy and other events at the Ames Public Library. At Your Library is a show hosted by Mary Logsdon that features new releases library staff and specific services provided by the Ames Public Library.
