An interactive lecture by hip hop duo The Reminders, “Hip Hop 101: The History of Hip Hop Culture and Its Impact on Our World,” will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Great Hall at ISU’s Memorial Union, 2229 Lincoln Way. The lecture is free and open to the public.
This lecture is part of a series of events taking place March 1, 4 and 5.
Ames Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Ames Public Library, Ames Police Foundation, Ames Human Relations Commission, and Iowa State University Lecture Series, is bringing hip hop duo The Reminders to Ames for three days of workshops and a concert.
A songwriting and lyric workshop will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in the Farwell T. Brown Auditorium at Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave. The workshop is free and open to the public.
The Reminders will be in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Ames City Auditorium, 520 Sixth St. Tickets are available in advance online at www.showtix4u.com/event-details/59987 or by calling Ames Community Center at 515.239.5350. Tickets are $15 for ages 13 and up, $10 for ages 5 to 12, and free for children under 5.
