Fire Chief Finalist Public Presentation: Lynn Washburn-Livingston

  • Introduction: Two finalists have been identified for the position of Fire Chief with the City of Ames Fire Department. As part of the interview process, the public is encouraged to attend the public presentations in order to interact with the candidates and provide feedback to City officials.

Two finalists have been identified for the position of Fire Chief with the City of Ames Fire Department. As part of the interview process, the public is encouraged to attend the public presentations in order to interact with the candidates and provide feedback to City officials.

Lynn Washburn-Livingston, of Davenport, served as the Fire Chief for the City of Davenport, from 2011 to 2017. From 1981 to 2011, Washburn-Livingston worked for the Rockford, Ill., Fire Department serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Lieutenant, and Captain before retiring as District Chief. She also worked as an adjunct instructor in Fire Science Management at Rockford Valley Community College in Rockford, from 2001 to 2011.  She earned an associate’s degree from Rock Valley Community College; a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and a master’s degree in organizational management from Ashford University in San Diego, Calif.

Washburn-Livingston will give a public presentation at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 515 Clark Ave.
