The Ames Municipal Band will continue its summer concert series with City Council Night at the Bandshell on Thursday, June 13. Bandshell Park is located at 125 E. Fifth St.

Concertgoers will have the opportunity to meet the Ames City Council, to enjoy free cookies and City of Ames water, and to listen to internationally acclaimed bass baritone Simon Estes.

Pre-concert entertainment will begin around 7 p.m. The Ames Municipal Band concert, conducted by Michael Golemo and featuring Estes, will follow the pre-concert entertainment and begin at 8 p.m.

The concerts are free, and the public is encouraged to attend. Attendees should arrive early for the best seating and are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs to concerts at the Bandshell. In the event of severe weather, Council Night at the Bandshell will be rescheduled.
