Indoor Volleyball League Winter

Adult Volleyball is one of the most popular sports in Ames. Women's and Men's officiated leagues offered during the week and Coed play on Friday evenings and Sundays. Games will be played at the Community Center. Monday - Friday leagues start at 7:00 PM; Sunday matches begin at Noon. Winter League starts in January and ends in April with a season ending tournament.

Welcome to the 2025 City of Ames Parks and Recreation Adult Winter Indoor Volleyball Program! Below you will find registration information for the upcoming season. League Information

  • All league matches will be held at the Community Center beginning the week of January 22, 2024.
  • Men’s and Women’s leagues will be held Monday through Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 10:15 PM.
  • Co-ed matches held on Friday evenings from 7:00 – 10:15 PM and Sundays from Noon – 9:00 PM.
  • Each league will have season ending tournament. Register early as teams per league are limited.

Registration

Email rosters to ben.flaherty@cityofames.org upon registration before the manager’s meeting. Please represent your team at the Manager’s meeting as decisions regarding your league and the number of games to be played will be made. League fees need to be paid in full before the season starts or your team won't be allowed to participate.

A minimum of six (6) players must be on the roster; the manager may add players at a later date.

League fees are $22.50/match and $15 for each Non-Resident player, tournament fee of $45.

Dates to Remember

  • Monday, January 6, 2025: League registration deadline
  • Tuesday, January 7, 2025: Volleyball manager’s meeting via Zoom (Rosters due prior to meeting)
    • Note: Please represent your team at the Manager’s meeting as decisions regarding your league and the number of games to be played will be made. League fees need to be paid in full before the season starts or your team won't be allowed to participate.
  • Monday, January 13, 2025: Volleyball fees are due
  • Monday, January 20, 2025: League play starts
  • Week of April 7, 2025: End of season

Levels

Play is offered at numerous levels to afford players of differing abilities and competitive interests opportunity of equal playing conditions. Please refer to the Volleyball Player/Team Rating System to get an idea of where your team should play. However, as with any adult sport league, it is sometimes difficult to determine which level would best fit a team’s interests. Please remember, teams that won their division last spring should move up one level of play this season.

Limited space is available in each league. Each level will be filled on a first-received basis with preference given to teams with over half Ames residents.
