In September 2021, U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded the City of Ames $1,269,248 in HOME-ARP funds to be used for community housing needs. The City’s Planning and Housing Department is hosting three public forums to get input on how to spend the funds. Also, a survey is available for housing organizations and Ames residents to provide feedback.
Public meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9; and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12. All meetings will be held in the Farwell Brown Auditorium in the Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave. The online survey is available at www.CityOfAmes.org/Housing and will be available through Wednesday, Jan. 18.
