An open house to share information and receive public comments regarding proposed future changes to 190th Street from George Washington Carver Avenue to Grand Avenue/U.S. Highway 69 will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Vintage Cooperative of Ames, 5900 Hyde Ave.
The 190th Street Corridor Study was undertaken to understand the traffic needs for 190th Street between George Washington Carver and Grand avenues, providing a path forward for corridor improvements. Proposed improvements include changes to traffic control at intersections, such as the addition of signals or roundabouts, and changes to the roadway itself.
The open house will be a come-and-go format, and no formal presentation is planned. Those with questions or comments who are unable to attend the meeting can find more information and leave comments at www.CityOfAmes.org/190thStudy, or may contact Mark Gansen, Civil Engineer II, at mark.gansen@cityofames.org or 515.239.5291.
