Ames Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Prairie Rivers of Iowa, welcomes the public to Monarch Magic, a free, family-friendly event for all ages taking place at Ada Hayden Heritage Park. Participants will experience the magic of tagging a monarch butterfly to help scientists track migration as well as engage in fun activities to learn more about this butterfly and other pollinators!

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Ada Hayden Heritage Park, 5205 Grand Ave. Participants should meet at the north parking lot shelter to check-in. For more information, go to: prrcd.org/events
