The Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) has launched Forward 2045, an update to the Ames area’s regional Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), and is seeking community feedback. The public is invited to learn about the planning process and provide input as part of a visioning open house scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Ames Public Library’s Farwell T. Brown Auditorium, 515 Douglas Ave.
At the open house, attendees will be asked to participate in interactive exercises to help the AAMPO gain a better understanding of the community’s transportation priorities, current and future transportation needs, and how to best address those needs with available transportation funding. Transportation planning helps users of any transportation system move around safely, reliably, and efficiently. Additionally, attendees will be asked to help shape a transportation vision and goals. The open house format will not include a formal presentation.
Those unable to attend the visioning open house can participate in an online version of the meeting. From Nov. 17 to Nov. 27, the online version will be posted at amesgisweb.city.ames.ia.us/forward45
