Ames Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a meeting to view updated plans for Tahira and Labh Hira Park. The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, in the meeting room at the west Hy-Vee, 3800 Lincoln Way. Parks and Recreation Department staff will be available for participants to ask questions and provide feedback.
Tahira and Labh Hira Park will be constructed on the former Edwards School property, which is located on the corner of Westwood Drive and Woodland Street. When complete, the 6-acre parcel will include a parking lot, play structure, green space, shelter, picnic tables, paths, and other features.

The Ames Parks and Recreation Department manages 38 parks and offers approximately 180 athletic, aquatic, instructional, and wellness programs.
