The mission of the Ames International Partner Cities Association (AIPCA) is to promote cultural and educational exchanges between the people of the City of Ames and those of our Partner Cities. Ames presently has one designated sister city: Koshu City, Japan. 

While the AIPCA is not an official board of the City, four delegates are appointed by the Mayor. Further information and a link to the application form may be found below.

Our Mission

The mission of the Ames International Partner Cities Association (AIPCA) is to promote cultural and educational exchanges between the people of the City of Ames and those of our Partner Cities.

Why Should You Join?

AIPCA is an opportunity for you to gain a greater knowledge of other countries customs and way of life. As a member of AIPCA you will have the opportunity to join in:  visiting our partner cities, sharing your home with visitors, developing lasting friendships, learning about another's language, culture and customs.

How to Get Involved

AIPCA Committees have been developed to allow you to participate in a variety of activities. Participating on a committee is a rewarding experience that gets you involved in the community exchanges in a way that best suits you.

 

• Hosting
  Arranges for host families to provide home stays for partner city delegations.
• Cultural Programs and Exchanges
  Develops cultural exchanges for music, art, sports and other cultural groups.
• Education & Youth Exchange
  Develops programs for Ames' school children and arranges opportunities for Ames children to travel to a partner city.
• Public Relations
  Creates a high profile for the partner cities concept and for AIPCA activities to educate and recruit members and solicit donations.

How Can You Join? 

Fill out the application and indicate where you want to apply your talents.

Contributors can choose from a variety of levels for financial donations and may actively participate in the cultural and educational exchanges with our partner cities by serving on any of the committees listed. In-kind services from other associations or businesses are also very welcome.

A newsletter providing information from the committees, cultural and educational information from all of our partner cities, as well as when and where you can attend AIPCA meetings is sent to members.
