The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the fiscal soundness of the City of Ames.  Fiscal services provided by the Finance Department include the following:

ACCOUNTING
Accounting and financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll

TREASURY
Cash management and investments, debt service payments

BUDGET
Preparation of the annual budget  and capital improvements plan, budget monitoring, financial forecasting and analysis

UTILITY CUSTOMER SERVICE
Utility meter reading and billing and collection (water, wastewater, electrical, and storm water utilities), parking ticket collection

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Computer, network, and telecommunications services

PURCHASING
Purchasing, print shop, and messenger services

PARKING TICKETS
Collection and processing of all City of Ames parking tickets
