Resource Recovery Fees

Single Bag/10 lbs $5

Car load/300 lbs $15

Van or Pickup Truck load/800 lbs $30

Vehicle and Trailer/1,500 lbs $55

Scale vehicles $75 per ton (one ton minimum)

The plant accepts residential and commercial trash, including paper, plastic, cardboard, furniture, carpet, outdoor play equipment, chain link fence, exercise equipment, grills, bicycles, metal items, etc.

Appliances are accepted for a fee of $30 (washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, water heater, humidifier, dehumidifier).  Bell Salvage and Mike Louis will accept appliances for a fee.

Tires are accepted for a fee:

Pickup tire or smaller $7

Semi-truck tires, skid loader tires $25

Sandbox or farm tractor tire $60

Rims $5

Fire extinguisher disposal $5

Unlicensed commercial hauler per vehicle/trip $25

Special handling fee (non-beneficial waste, reloading of vehicle, extended tipping time) $250

TVs and Monitors

• Less than 40" ... $30
• More than 40" ... $40
• Projection/console tvs ... $60

Mattress or box spring, each $10

Couch, each $10

Hot tub, each $50

Up to 5 gallons of waste oil is accepted free of charge; $.50 per gallon is charged over 5 gallons.  Large generators will be directed to a waste oil recycler.

Car batteries (lead-acid batteries) are accepted at no charge.

Rechargeable batteries are accepted at no charge.

Construction and demolition waste (wood, drywall, brick, concrete, etc.) is not accepted at the plant; these wastes must be taken to the Metro Park East Landfill at 12181 NE University Avenue, east of Des Moines: 515-967-2076.
