2021/22 Concrete Pavement Improvements (24th Street & Stange Road)

Project Information:

The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct for the reconstruction of Stange Rd and 24th St. Stange Rd was completed in 2023 while 24th St will be reconstructed in 3 main stages this year. Stage one will be the north lane of 24th. Stage 2 will be the new center turn lane. Stage 3 will be the south lane of 24th St. The final stage will include the 24th St approaches to railroads tracks. The project will also include storm sewer improvements and new of sections of shared use path along the south of 24th St.

In addition to new concrete street pavement, the scope of work for this project also includes stormwater improvements such as additional intakes and bio swale for storm water treatment. The intersection of Stange Rd and 24^th St will also have updated pedestrian push buttons and ADA ramp improvements.
