We want your feedback on sidewalks!

The Ames City Council is considering modifications to the Sidewalk Safety Program. These changes would be applicable to all public sidewalks throughout Ames. Public sidewalks are sidewalks on the public right of way. The care and maintenance of public sidewalks is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner.

In Ames, there is no sidewalk inspection schedule. Sidewalk inspections are complaint driven. When a complaint is received, the Public Works Department uses the standards shown in the tables to determine compliance with the Sidewalk Safety Program.

The survey will remain open through Friday, March 22.
